I don't have a cell phone. Does that make me weird?

I cannot hear that well on cell phones. They are expensive. I have a volume control amplified phone at home with voice mail. I use email for almost all of my communication. That is all I need. People freak when I say I don't have a cell phone. Not everyone is a cookie cutter version of the typical human being. Why don't they get it?

Don't feel bad because I don't have a cell phone, either. It's not that I don't want one, it's just that I haven't needed it and haven't gotten around to getting one yet. Also, I don't get what the big deal is with a cell phone, anyhow. People survived before cell phones were invented, so why is it such a big deal nowadays? I don't get it.
